The current levels of poverty and inequality in the UK cannot and should not be tolerated. Some progress has been made over the last 10 years in starting to address the problems of poverty in Scotland and the UK. There is now commitment amongst all the main political parties to address poverty. However far more needs to be done to tackle poverty and to turn the paper commitments to address poverty into a reality.
The Poverty Alliance is working to build pressure for the changes that are required. But we need your help to do this. We want to build a network of organisations across Scotland that can make a real contribution to the fight against poverty; a network that can lobby for the changes that are needed to make a real difference in peoples’ lives and central to such a network is the involvement of people experiencing poverty.
